September 16 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Honor trailblazing women past and present!
Be among the 2,500 people in the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall as we recognize women who broke down barriers for themselves and others. A celebratory reception in the lobby follows the ceremony.
This joyful celebration of American women will begin with a ceremony featuring celebrity appearances, music and performance segments, and a salute to women who have blazed trails in a multitude of fields — from business and government to sports, education and entertainment.
The program will begin promptly at 5:30pm. At 7pm, guests will move to the Kimmel Center lobby to enjoy two hours of food, drinks and conversation.
Highlights of the ceremony will be presentation of national and regional awards, including of the Woman One Award. Since 2003, Woman One has been awarded annually by the Institute for Women’s Health and Leadership at Drexel University College of Medicine to a woman who demonstrates exceptional leadership. Donations to Woman One provide tuition support funds for talented underrepresented medical students.
September 16 is eve of National Constitution Day, and the opening day of Vision 2020’s 7th National Congress. Delegates to the Congress, representatives from Vision 2020’s Allied Organizations, and leaders from the City of Philadelphia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and across the nation will attend.
